havent been able to open the app since the update

had it on both my iphone and mac book pro - worked great and i loved it - axctually still love it on my phone but wont open anymore on mac laptop. sent in a help request and they said they fixed the bug and sent to apple but still doesnt work on laptop -pretty sad! - hope its fixed soon - i miss it

new upgrade forced closed.. please fix it

This update has destroyed the Shazam app from usage. It now won’t open at all. Shazam - you need a fix.

the update made my shazam unable to work it made it CRASH the icon show up just to dissappear now i can’t use they need to fix it so i can use please it worked fine before i updated it now im sad

Used to crash a lot, now it’s better. I took one star away for having a history of instability. Who knows what errors will pop up next?

Sometimes even recognizes music playing from my headphones.

No matter if you have an iPhone or a Mac: Shazam is a must-have software. Have been using it for yours and it has never failed me. It looses some relevance if you listen to a radio station from Apple Music (where you always can see which track is running) but for radio stations without showing the current song, Shazam is a perfect companion.

Very happy with this app, especially now that it’s linked with Apple Music. Only feature I think it’s missing is the ability to tell what song is playing when you have headphones plugged in the socket. Maybe, I’m missing something? Otherwise, great app and works as advertised.

Rather than write a nasty review because update 1.1 broke the app, I emailed Shazam, and got an immediate response. It took about 5 days for the app to be fixed. Again the app is really good, and it’s free. it gives me info on music playing in the room with my mac, as expected, but even tells me the episode info for whatever I’m watching on tv. That, cross-referenced with IMDB, allows me to discover information about even minor actors that happen to cross my screen. Shazam even identifies music on the soundtracks of movies I’m watching on Netflix when I’m watching with headphones on. Pretty cool to say the least.

Good app on iPhone, not good on Mac. Does not work at all. Been trying this all different songs with no response….

Still no luck, as a previous version. I have a Mac mini 2012 with Apple iSight camera connected to it, and it works perfect in every app that use microphone, except for Shazam :). When i open up Shazam, the indicator on the web camera tells that it is working, but... nothing happens. When i quit shazam, led light turn off too... something is wrong here...

Can we somehow avoid restarting Shazam timer for song discovery? I’m sick and tired by these popups every 5 hours or so. Recently, it hasn’t been even asking to reset timer - it just turns it off and when I try to turn it on - it doesn’t discover any songs and the only way to fix it is to quit and start the app again. This is frustrating, I just want to launch an app and forget about everything else. Three stars for the shazam technology and iOS app experience. Will leave 5 stars when OS X version will have the same smooth experience.

The thing that makes me so unhappy with this is that it ONLY picks up and identifies songs that are on iTunes...Ive used it for several days now and so far it has only identified about half of the music playing (all sold on iTunes) and the ones that it does not identify are easily picked up by the Shazam on my iPad...so something is definitely wrong with the Mac version...and I have a brand new iMac, bought this year, with all the audio sounds set correctly...does this Shazam ONLY identify songs on iTunes? Anyway, Im very unhappy with it...my iPad and iPhone version both work quite well...

I use it on my mac, and sometimes it suddenly decides to stop working. Its on, but its not listening to my music/telling me what song is on.

love this app! i have had more fun making a playlist of the shazams i hear on the radio. works in stores too! it just needs to hear a little of a song. EVEN the different versions! cheers!!

It’s Shazam. It works. The only problem is that it doesnts launch on start up for me.
