Shazam: Identify Songs App Reviews

I’ve been running Shazam in the background whenever I’m on my computer; I watch a lot of snowboard videos and what not and it’s nice to know what the song is. However, recently (since October 6th) it hasn’t been working at all, even when I check if it’s running. Probably something to do with the new OS update.

For a while now, this app hasn’t been working. It opens and says it’s listening to its surroundings, but it never picks up sound. Please fix!

Not sure whats wrong with other users, but the auto Shazam works fine on El Capitan for me. I wish you could manually shazam rather than clogging up your auto-shazam feed with with every little sound it picks up in the 6 hours that it will run automatically.

Worked beautifully but they’ve broken the app since the re-design.

Shazam used to recognise and find songs that played internally as well as externally from my laptop. But now it only recognizes music externally. I used to find it so helpful that I could watch an episode of show on my laptop and know instantly what song was playing, but now that functionality seems to be gone. Is this a setting issue or something wrong on my end with the hardware for example? I have googled and tried to troubleshoot but nothing changes. Please fix this issue ASAP.

The app didn’t register a single song, my mic was working, the app was on! So I have no idea if it works or not!

I loved this app, it made me discover a lot of new songs but recently it won’t recognize anything. It keep saying that I should get closer to the source when I’m next to it and there’s no other noise around. Disappointed.

It needs an update where you can delete songs from the previous day all at once or the ability to select as many songs as possible and delete them all at once. That would make this app so much better. I personally do need to see all the songs that have been shzamed.

Great while watching youtube videos. Discovered many great artists/songs with this app. Reinstalled after upgrading to El Capitan. Works flawlessly now.

iMac with Yosemite. Not working. And I cannot understand how Apple decides this app as Editor’s Choice? Editor’s Choice for not to choose or what?

I haven’t tried here in OS X but when I shazam a song on iOS there is nothing I can click to go to...

Why does it notifies me of songs I play through iTunes? I get 2 notifications, one from iTunes with information what is playing now and then from Shazam which isn’t needed.

Just does not work… Seems it requires internal microphone, that is not present in new Mac Pro (late 2013). External USB microphones (webcam, external sound card) are not recognised by Shazam, even if set as default input devices in System Preferences.

It works grat. That being said, I think there needs to be a button that works exactly like in the mobile app. I wanna be able to open the app and then just click to find out what’s playing. Right now it doesn’t always show the song that just played.

Occasionally recognizes what I listen, sometimes recognizes wrongly, mostly does not recognize anything. Mobile version works much better.

Jak na razie aplikacja nie rozpoznała żadnej ze słuchanych rzeczy… Nawet takich znanych jak: - Adele - Rolling in the Deep - Olly Murs Heart Skips a Beat (feat. Rizzle Kicks) - Red Hot Chili Peppers Right On Time itd. Póki co nie polecam.

Sometimes doesn’t recognize the song I’m listening to. Is there any chance to connect it with spotify as it is in mobile app? That would be grate! :)

I have MBP with Retina display and Shazam won’t work on the old OS (it was 10.9.2 I think?) after system reinstallaton and disk format everything work great on 10.9.4. Love shazam!
